This week has been a pretty cool week. We now have the technology to update and confirm a delivery as soon as it is hand delivered to the recipient. What does this mean for you, the sender? You will have an email (if we are provided with your email address) within minutes of the flowers being hand delivered by a Freytag’s Florist driver . No more sitting around all afternoon wondering if your flowers were delivered. No more being placed on hold so we can verify delivery, you will have it at your fingertips. I try to look at everything through the customers eyes and this had me about as excited as anything we have done in a while. I hope you are too.

We are now offering Sweet Shop Chocolates. Sweet Shop USA was established in 1972, in Fort Worth, Texas. Today, the company is located in Mount Pleasant, Texas. They are a family owned producer of hand-made chocolates. From their inception, the company has sought and continually trained individuals with experience in the art of hand crafting chocolates. They are dedicated in preserving the time consuming craft created locally by Martha Washington Chocolates some 75 years ago. And let me tell you these chocolates are amazing. We have boxes in all different sizes. They also offer great seasonal packaging like the spring packaging above. These chocolates are truly a treat.

Freytag's Florist Technology
I’m happy to let you know that we completed the installation and training on our new computer software.
This software is quite an update from our previous software. It will enable us to join the 21st century.ÂÂ
We will now be able to send you an email confirmation at the end of each order. We will also send out delivery confirmations at the end of each drivers run so you will know your flowers were delivered by the end of the day. This system should speed up the order entry process as well.
There are tons of bells and whistles on the system but I am most excited that it will give us the power to continue providing the best customer service in the Austin area.

Christmas and the holiday season are upon us again and the poinsettias are once again beautiful. Our growers have done an amazing job with these plants. We only carry the finest plants available in order to distinguish ourselves from the big box stores. Come by and see the difference. I’d also like to dispel the myth of the toxic poinsettia. Here are some great studies courtesy of my friends at Texas State Florist Association that strongly prove the poinsettia is a safe plant. I hope all of you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday Season.
-The poinsettia is the most widely tested consumer plant on the market today, proving the myth about the popular holiday plant to be false.
-Scientific research from The Ohio State University has proved the poinsettia to be non-toxic to both humans and pets. All parts of the plant were tested, including the leaves and sap.
-According to POISINDEX, the national information center for poison control centers, a child would have to ingest 500-600 leaves in order to exceed the experimental doses that found no toxicity.
-A study from the Children’sHospital in Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University found that out of 22,793 reported poinsettia exposures there was essentially no toxicity significance of any kind. The study used national data collected by the American Association of Poison Control Centers.
-As with any non-food product, however, the poinsettia is not meant to be eaten and can cause varying degrees of discomfort; therefore, the plant should be kept out of the reach of young children and curious pets.

Thanksgiving is a great time to show friends and family how much you love them with a beautiful fall centerpiece or fall flower arrangement.
A thanksgiving centerpiece is a wonderful way to finish off your dining table for your Thanksgiving feast. A beautiful fall arrangement is a great way to say thank you to a friend who’s been there for you all year. A fall plant is a great gift that keeps on giving.
Don’t forget Christmas is sneaking up on us quickly and Poinsettias will be here soon too. Stay tuned.
